What To Expect from Our Blog Updates

Hey there! This is Nate. I’m the owner & operator of Wind Media Co. And while you may see contractors with me on set (video creation is almost always a team sport), I’m also currently our only full-time employee!

I’ve been working in video professionally for the last 8 years, and been making videos for over a decade if you count the ones I created for fun going all the way back to 2010. Today, through Wind Media Co, I utilize my years of experience to not only create videos for clients, but guide them through the process of what will best help them reach their goals. Sometimes that’s a brand video, sometimes that’s documenting their events/speeches/concerts, & sometimes that’s creating various smaller videos for their social media followings.

Looking back on this journey, I’ve kept records of all the official pieces: contracts, pay stubs, gear rental agreements. But I’ve been much more fragmented when it comes to keeping record of the fun stuff. The creative processes, the late night brainstorm sessions, the bizarre situations I’ve found myself in, the difficult moments, the triumphs, and even the mundane day-to-day. The FULL process of creation & building these stories on the screen.

I’ve begun documenting some of these moments & thoughts on my TikTok and Instagram, but I feel that a blog might be a unique avenue to document the process in a more in-depth way. For myself and for anyone else who cares to read. This blog is for documenting the process of this business, behind the scenes of video shoots & edits, and the process of growing as a filmmaker, business, & person. It’s for adding a level of transparency and another avenue for you to see what goes on behind the camera.

So from this blog, you can check in for updates about Wind Media Co, behind the scenes break-downs, projects we’ve been working on, thoughts on business, & thoughts on video & filmmaking.

I wish I started this blog years ago, but like the saying goes “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” So I guess I should go ahead and plant this tree.
